A winter wonderland

Chalet Marmottes boasts an exceptional location in Serre Chevalier. Perched on a hill overlooking the snowy valley, it is a stone’s throw away from a picturesque mountain hamlet. The chalet sleeps 10 guests in arguably the most sought after position within the resort: the sun drenched terraces and garden provide unrivalled panoramic views across the valley and maximum hours of glorious sunshine. And whilst extremely private, this cosy haven remains a mere a 10 minute walk from the village’s bars and restaurants and just a two-minute drive from the ski lifts in you chauffeured vehicle.

A jewel chalet

Designed and built entirely by master craftsmen, the prestigious chalet is an architectural masterpiece. The carpenters all worked using techniques that stem from the Middle Ages, transmitted from master to apprentice through the times. The beams are held together with wooden pegs.
Flooded with light, the vast living area includes the lounge, the dining room and the kitchen, opening onto two terraces. In the kitchen, the black gourmet range cooker Lacanche echoes the dark granite countertop, lit up by the straw yellow whitewashed walls and the cement tiles with sparkling colour patterns. The raspberry-coloured kitchen cabinets bring a touch of freshness to this paradise for cooks. You can easily imagine the guests sitting around the country table, which is a 19th century dough trough, framed by sturdy wooden benches.

Three steps down below, you enter the lounge featuring a beautiful fireplace. The snow-clad mountains stand through the numerous bay windows. Nestled under the roof, the five bright and airy bedrooms combine the warmth of the wood with authentic whitewashed walls in delicate hues. This dream house is definitely a cosy haven in the heart of the Alps.
